Our commitment to your privacy

Photo Library Cleaner & Organiser ("the App", "we", "us") is developed by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.

The short version: we collect no personal data, we store nothing on our servers (we have no servers), and your photos never leave your device.

We collect nothing

The App does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:

  • Photos, videos, or any media from your library
  • Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, Apple ID)
  • Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, serial number)
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics or behavioural data
  • Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to us
  • Browsing or search history
  • Financial or payment information
  • Health or biometric data
  • Contacts, calendars, or any other sensitive data

How we use your photo library

The App requires access to your photo library to provide its core functionality. This access is used solely to display, analyse, organise, and delete photos and videos at your explicit direction.

🖼️ Reading media

The App reads thumbnails and full-resolution images and videos from your iOS Photo Library to display them for your review. This processing happens entirely within the app on your device using Apple's Photos framework.

🔍 On-device analysis

Features such as blur detection, duplicate identification, screenshot filtering, and large video detection are performed using mathematical algorithms that run locally. No image data is ever sent to a remote server or third-party service for analysis.

🗑️ Deletion

When you choose to delete media, the App requests a deletion through Apple's Photos framework. Deleted items move to the iOS "Recently Deleted" album (recoverable for 30 days) in accordance with standard iOS behaviour. The App never permanently destroys data without iOS confirmation.

📁 Album management

If you create or modify albums, those changes are written directly to your local iOS Photo Library using Apple's Photos framework. No album metadata is transmitted externally.

Data stored only on your device

The App stores a small amount of data locally on your device to provide a seamless experience. This data never leaves your device.

⚙️ App preferences

Settings such as whether to include videos, auto-advance behaviour, and video playback preferences are saved in iOS UserDefaults — a local, on-device storage system. These preferences are never synced to any external service by us.

📋 Review sessions

Your review progress and queued deletion decisions are stored locally using SwiftData (Apple's on-device database framework). This data exists only on your device and is removed when you delete the app.

🔢 Daily review count

For free-tier users, a counter tracking how many items you've reviewed today is stored locally in UserDefaults. This information is never transmitted to us.

Purchases via Apple

The App offers optional in-app purchases (monthly subscription, yearly subscription, and a one-time lifetime unlock) to unlock unlimited reviews.

All purchase transactions are handled exclusively by Apple via StoreKit and the App Store. We do not process, store, or have access to your payment card details or transaction history. Apple's privacy policy governs all purchase data. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time through your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

No third-party SDKs

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, social media, or tracking SDKs. The only external framework used is Apple's own StoreKit for processing in-app purchases through the App Store — which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not use:

  • Analytics tools (e.g. Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude)
  • Advertising networks or ad identifiers
  • Crash reporting services (e.g. Crashlytics, Sentry)
  • Social login or sharing SDKs
  • Machine learning APIs that transmit your data externally

Data subject rights

Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. All app data resides on your device and can be removed at any time by deleting the app.

For data held by Apple (purchase history, iCloud backups), please refer to Apple's privacy controls at Settings → Privacy & Security on your device, or visit apple.com/privacy.

🌍 GDPR (European users)

As we process no personal data, we have no lawful basis obligations to fulfil under GDPR. No data processing agreements, data protection impact assessments, or consent banners are required from us.

🇺🇸 CCPA (California residents)

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. California residents have no data to request, correct, or delete from us.

Safe for all ages

The App does not knowingly collect any information from any user, including children under the age of 13 (COPPA) or 16 (GDPR). Because we collect no data whatsoever, the App is inherently safe for users of all ages from a privacy standpoint. Parents can use the App with complete confidence that no information is transmitted.

Security by design

The most secure data is data that is never collected. Because all processing occurs on-device and no data is transmitted to any server, there is no central database to breach, no network transmission to intercept, and no third-party to compromise.

The App operates within iOS's sandboxed environment and uses only Apple-approved frameworks to access your photo library. iOS enforces strict access controls; the App can only access your photos with your explicit permission.

Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Any changes will be posted here and, where appropriate, communicated through an App Store update notice.

Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
